For
a variety of reasons many students find the pressure of studying more
than they can cope with on their own, which can slow down
their
progress at school. It's
important to catch any learning difficulties early on in order
to
prevent further deterioration.
No
two pupils are the same. Some students find it difficult to
develop a regular homework routine and study method that they're
comfortable with and that suits their personal needs.
With many students
this is often due to a lack of self-discipline and an inability to effectively plan
ahead. At home they tend to be easily distracted; TV, chatting,
computer games etc. so they develop a range of excuses to avoid their
homework.
Learning
difficulties are further complicated for students diagnosed with
developmental problems such as autism and/or AD(H)D. These youngsters
benefit from regular, intensive personal tuition that provides
structure, insight and a more relaxed approach to studying.

Despite
the very best intentions, schools sometimes lack the resources to
provide these students with the additional personal attention they
require. This can have a detrimental effect on a student's
self-confidence.
In
these situations, a period of additional guidance can help the student
to stay focused on their study. With careful homework planning extra
time can be created during which the student can work ahead and give
the more difficult subjects the extra attention they need. Improving
results give the student's self-confidence a boost, helping to increase
their pleasure in learning.
The ultimate goal is to improve the pupil's results at school by stimulating their
interest, thus making their time at school
more enjoyable.
Nestor helps to bring back the
pleasure in learning.
